1) The positive points that the reviews pick out for capital is that this show shows us a good view of London throughout and there is a display of every culture within the show which promotes diversity amongst the first episode. This  show also explores how this economic disaster affects us all through the characters as we are able to relate to each and everyone.

2)The criticisms that are made about this show is that it was written before the crash had actually happened and other criticisms were that it was shown to be Christmas but it was filmed during summer or spring.

3)The TV drama changes location changes from Clapham to Balham which is shot in summer in 2015 rather than the book which was in 2008.

4)As the London housing market is rising the telegraph points out it is affected others more as there is a class divide shown between these different people.

5)The features that are shown in the articles is that the evening standard ''London's economy affects us all'' which means that this drama is very captivating and relate able because of the different ethnic minorities and classes shows. There is also a family who live on the street and this displays the state of the nation aspect as a result.

Textual analysis:
1) This drama uses various skyline shots to display the London life amongst different characters shown within the drama each going through their own difficulties.

2)when the characters are initially introduced the camera is continuously moving from character to character and there are various overview shots that show the road itself and the city.

3)The camerawork establishes the family element of the drama through the settings and characters facial expressions and their lifestyle as we see from the Pakistani family who are known to be working class and own a shop which allows the audience to know that the drama will be based around them as a whole family as the audience perceive their status.

4)The streets soundtrack is very effectively used as the lyrics claim that the streets wants us back and i surrender which again promotes this sense of community to the audience amongst this street and gives a aspect of social realism.

5)The trailer introduces narrative strands by suggesting that there is going to be tension as we see the portrayal of many different characters like, the banker, the Family, the old widow and how she claims that the street has changed and then we see how the banker and his wife are having a disputation and all of these things are shown near the doors of each house and this demonstrates what kind of impact these postcards are having.

Episode 1 Preview for capital:
1)The preview of the clip suggests that the sub genre of this show capital is a family drama show.

2)One element that may suggest that this a state of the nation drama is that there is a Pakistani family within it which means that it has a contemporary setting and characters that are drawn from a wide spectrum of social backgrounds.

3)This clip uses the setting to display the realism and familiarity towards the audience as we know they own the shop and this reflects their status within the neighbourhood and we hear the boy claim that there are also others that live on this road who are from different ethnic backgrounds.

4)The audience pleasures that are provided from this episode one preview is that there is much more creativity than others dramas as it promotes diversity.

5)The audience may respond with different ideologies for each characters as the police officer who is from white ethnic background and the Asian family has complained and the boys go against him so this could give a sense of real life scenarios that happen.

Episode 2 preview for capital:
1) The Upper Middle Class family life in the preview for episode is presented through a nanny who is looking after the kids and the husband who is about to go to work representing a nuclear family. They are seen to have a good house and a nice lifestyle.

2)The narrative strands that are suggested are that there may be a disagreement between the father and the mother of the two children due to the nanny who looks after the kids.

3)The banker is presented as a character with aristocratic values and shown to be dressed smartly and have a reputable job in society and the audience may view him as a father and a husband who is quite into his pleasures.

Production and industry context:

2)The breakthrough show for Kudos in 2002 was spooks which was a award winning spy drama.

3)The show Reel presents kudos as producing Family drama, science fiction shows and classical dramas as well.

1)The information on page 3 sounds interesting due to the show capital being described through various characters who are from different ages and ethnic minorities and gives a hint of the story line to hint the audience as a result it hooks them in to finding out more. This also asks rhetorical questions of what these postcards are whether they are coming from a campaign and what do they actually want suggesting creating more mystery to be looked into for the audiences.

2)The programme information mentions that the Director and producer have worked on shows like Happy Valley, last tango is Halifax, the hour, from there to here all these were produced.

3)The BBC was commissioned by Charlotte Moore who is controller of the BBC along with Ben Stephenson who is also a controller of BBC and drama.

4) Toby Jones describes the character of the banker as a character who does not really have full control of his household or his work that he does because of the things that go on he is a evil banker who spends money on very pointless things that another individual may not do.

5)The traditional Pepys's road gives sense of community but there are elements within the show that some characters do not feel a part of it like the Brother of Usman  who doesn't but the road gives the problems that some streets in London are actually facing.

6)Shabzana Azmi claims that the Asian representations in Britain are changing as there is more global connections being made within society and there is more understanding of it. She states that as there are many different cultures being represented everyone is understanding them with their own perspectives.

7)Peter Bowker claims that his favourite scenes within the show are where Roger s left alone with his two kids and the chaotic family meals at the Kamal's because of the way they are represented with such comedy.

8) Derek Wax the producer of Capital claims that this show was interesting because of they way it is bought out to the audience through these various characters that are so relate able and believable which creates a sense of humanity and insight amongst different people in community. He produces this drama because he loved the sense of this big, expansive panorama of life as well as the small details of human behaviour.
This show displays the way London is now as there are different cultures who have their own way of living and the expansion of property and the value of money is overtaking everyone's life and the show explore the true validity of real life.

DVD packaging:

1)The packaging uses other critically acclaimed dramas to promote capital because those shows were award winning and uses them to promote capital to further stimulate other audiences in watching this TV drama.

2)The use of design and images suggest to the audience that this is a multi cultural TV drama that is going to be based on many different characters and their lives as it presents the Asian family along with banker and his wife, the builders, the widow her grandson and her daughter. These all suggest that this will have many sides within the show which will  relate to everyone within London as we can see this from the skyline shots shown.

3)The review quotes are used on the cover to enhance the audience about this drama and suggests that it is moving and about modern Britain giving the audience more insight of the perplexity that could be faced amongst these different characters.
