Editing: Blog task

For this task I have chosen a scene from 'The good the bad and ugly' as it seems to be a well edited scene that runs for quite a long time and holds many expectations for the audience and fulfils this by building up the scene with various shots and scenes and the sound also contributes towards this. There is definitely a reason that the characters become involved in civil war beyond being able to include a brilliant battle scene. If there is a message to the film i believe it is: How a person acts in war is a true test of how good or bad a person they are. In this version of the west every character is greedy and has shady motives but war highlights their true level of morality. As this scene begins we are shown the three characters who are in middle of a cemetery which is shown twice and the first shots is a medium close up of one of the characters looking around and their position is reestablished. Their bodies are shown with medium close ups with eye line matches with

blade runner 2049 homework

1) Article 1: Blade runner 2049 review - a gigantic spectacle of pure hallucinatory craziness: This film is set thirty years after the original film, the  story depicts a bio engineered human a replicant  blade runner named k, who discovers the remains of a replicant who was once pregnant. He focuses on preventing possible war between replicant and humans, Officer K secretly tasked with finding the child and destroying all evidence related to it.  This Article links with  Baudrillard's theory as this film conveyed hyper reality and stimulation through out the film  as certain scenes were a pure spectacle but also some audiences may have expected more as they could have wanted more  science fiction action. However some audiences may have thought that it was a near perfect movie as it was a sequel that they would have thought wasn't possible. It touches themes from he original with respect, while expending the plot and the world very intelligently. This film does have certain

Cinematography video feedback and learner response

Feedback: WWW: Very scenic and nice location and the music fits in with it. Good use of focus pull. good shots and very accurate.  good use of cinematography. effective way of shots matched well with the setting. the shots were clear. accurate examples of some shots . I enjoyed the music choice and the shots were clarified in the video. opening and establishing shots were amazing the sunset with high low angle works well. EBI: The close up wasn't accurate. check labelling of some shots as the shot of the eye was a extreme close up. Needed few more shots as close up lasted too long. Shorten the shots and add more. use wider range of shots. Camera work was a real issue as it was all shaky and handheld and the type of shots needed steady camerawork. Focus was inconsistent. Titles not always accurate. Learner Response: From this task I learned that instead of doing my shots all handheld should use a tripod for next time to make the shots more steady a

Moonlight trip homework

Discussion points : Chiron is presented in a reluctant way to tell the audience he is a character who is having a hard time and finds it hard to open up because of what is going on with his family this makes the audience want to identify with his character. Furthermore his character is presented in three stages of his life showing how he has coped with everything and the other characters help Chiron by talking to him slowly with very small amounts of speech used but we also later realise that him as black he has later identified with Juan and later recreates his character. He doesn't make eye contact because he is conveyed through his vulnerable and shy character so the audience feels sympathetic towards him. The image created via the setting is very saturated and this makes the image of the city look more intriguing towards the audience as the audience wouldn't expect this type of film to be set in Miami. Also the culture promotes diversity and the reality of what kind of

Cinematography blog tasks

1)This opening scene uses cinematography in various ways to make the scene interesting for the audience.  This scene begins with showing a establishing shot to the audience to ,let them know the setting and what the weather is like and then we see the characters and we see a boy putting down a boat and it there is a close up shot shown regarding this stating that there must be a narrative behind this. Furthermore we see a side angle shot of the character and mentions to the little boy to be careful and this heightens the drama across this scene. Furthermore as the scene proceeds and we are shown a high angle shot and the boy continuously  running after this boat and a low angle shot as the boat travels through the puddles. There is also medium close up shown as the boy is protecting himself from the carriers whilst running, In addition to the this there further use of close up shots as the boy and the clown are shown and this adds to the narrative as we do not know
