sound video feedback and learner response

Feedback from teacher: "Good choice of music and the switch from parallel to contrapuntal is clear- always a good sign that the terminology is understood." "I thought that the very first image was a little ambiguous but after that it was clearer." "Pace of editing and transitions could have been used to make this more effective- perhaps fast pace for beginning, cross dissolves for contrapuntal. " Feedback from students: WWW: "There was clear indication between contrapuntal and parallel music." "The use of the Disney characters contrasted with the music." EBI: "increase the pace" "Good ideas the music went will the images!" "could have used faster shots and range of images, not just princesses or snowboarding." "the audio choice suited the video" "A dramatic effect for the first half did match the video it was effective and left the audience with their imagination to r

media awards blog

My Three favourite films: Click: One of my favourite films that i saw in media awards was click and i found it interesting of how the action the suitcase and everything was built upon that as it was the main element of this film and was highly focused on it. Furthermore the suitcase also acted as the macguffin which made it even more intriguing for the audience. I also liked the use of action within this film as as it built up tension for the audience and the use of sound was also very effective. This film seems to be a art house film and seems to be aimed at teens and adults. The props were used quite effectively in this film there were also various types of shots that were seen as there were long shots and short shots used and the settings were also very different and there were certain types of lighting used such as low key which added to the enigma. There were certain close up shots seen as well which heightened the emotions. This film also had a linear pattern. Ou

Sound video

In this video we have created a sound video which has elements of parallel and contrapuntal as some bits within this video don't match the pictures within it and some do and the music would be very different to also within this video. Furthermore there is also non diagetic sound that it used as a sound track has been aimed to fit in with the video. This will all contribute to how the audience interpret the video and whether they appreciate it or not.

sound analysis: Blog task

Funny Games: 1) The music suggests that the family is quite high class and formal because they are listening to classical music and playing games. 2) The use of music is diagetic and parallel as it goes with the sort of family they are. 3)I think that the narrative will develop as there might be some sort of danger when they reach their destination as the music played towards the ending of the scene seems quite serious. A Clockwork orange: 1)This scene uses classical music which doesn't go with the scene as it is non diagetic and contrapuntal as we are unable to associate it with the scene. 2)The action in this scene is slow so it could be adding to the tension of this particular scene. Time in the west: 1)The sounds within this scene were footsteps, water, fingers clicking, the fly buzzing and the train. 2)The sound bridge was the train as we heard it before we actually saw it which creates a tense atmosphere as we don't know what is going to happen next. lighting still image analysis

1)This image portrays elements of high and low key lighting to convey the film noire aspect of the film as from the poster as there are dramatic shadows created around the women as we can only see the left of her face which means top lighting has been used as this signifies the features of her face very clearly. 2)This poster also depicts key lighting as it is at different angles and shows only half of her face and this could mean that she is hidden form something and could add to the film noire element of this film and i would also say that top lighting is used because her features appear more glamorous. 3) The effects created by the image is that it may want to portray the women as hidden and convey the film noire element of this film to make the audience more engaged with it and allow the audience to know the genre of this film. Some audiences may interpret this in different ways as they may emphasis the fact that the lady could be portrayed more seductively rather than hidden a
