sound analysis: Blog task

Funny Games:
1) The music suggests that the family is quite high class and formal because they are listening to classical music and playing games.
2) The use of music is diagetic and parallel as it goes with the sort of family they are.
3)I think that the narrative will develop as there might be some sort of danger when they reach their destination as the music played towards the ending of the scene seems quite serious.

A Clockwork orange:
1)This scene uses classical music which doesn't go with the scene as it is non diagetic and contrapuntal as we are unable to associate it with the scene.
2)The action in this scene is slow so it could be adding to the tension of this particular scene.

Time in the west:
1)The sounds within this scene were footsteps, water, fingers clicking, the fly buzzing and the train.
2)The sound bridge was the train as we heard it before we actually saw it which creates a tense atmosphere as we don't know what is going to happen next.

Once upon a time in America:
1)The sounds we hear in this scene are diagetic as everything is happening quite fast pace.
2) The director uses sound as it builds up tension but also shows us the elements of the genre such as comedy and thriller because of the character that gets trapped and the amount of people within this scene.

This film scene includes diagetic sound as the fight scene happens it goes with tension of this and as the character runs the pace picks up which adds to the intense atmosphere of the scene. This makes the scene seem more normal and use parallel sound as it accompanies this scene and violin playing in the background play faster to convey the tense atmosphere and the anxiety of these characters. This is conveyed through the scene beginning and ending very differently. The director may do this purposefully to make the audience feel better and portray the tension being emphasised within these characters making the audience feel pleasure through the women saving everyone.
