blade runner 2049 homework

1) Article 1: Blade runner 2049 review - a gigantic spectacle of pure hallucinatory craziness:

This film is set thirty years after the original film, the  story depicts a bio engineered human a replicant blade runner named k, who discovers the remains of a replicant who was once pregnant. He focuses on preventing possible war between replicant and humans, Officer K secretly tasked with finding the child and destroying all evidence related to it. This Article links with Baudrillard's theory as this film conveyed hyper reality and stimulation through out the film  as certain scenes were a pure spectacle but also some audiences may have expected more as they could have wanted more  science fiction action. However some audiences may have thought that it was a near perfect movie as it was a sequel that they would have thought wasn't possible. It touches themes from he original with respect, while expending the plot and the world very intelligently. This film does have certain illusions that are made that fit with the context of the film such as when other illusions are shows through replicants to officer k. We see Baudrillard's theory within this film of hyper reality as when Rachel is replaced via a replicant this is stimulation as she replaced the character that was actually being represented through the memories.

2) Article 2:Blade runner 2049 review - future classical:

The film may portray the future in a classical way but audiences may not feel this way as they may have been higher as it was 30 years ahead of the last film. As the cinematography made it more realistic towards the reality rather than too cliche and this collaborated well with the mise en scene with this film as it was able to communicate meaning to the audience. There were various shots and angles used through out this film which created a impact on this future world.Furthermore this film had many props and costumes that added to the scenes and action within the film. As the film is quite long all the action and cinematography fit together really well and there is quite a difference within the worlds that are shown amongst the film series overall.

3)Article 3 :I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: what blade runner 2049 dystopia tells us about 2017:

This film does show us elements that we wouldn't expect to see as the audience and it creates more ambiguity for the audience through out this film as for example when officer k keeps on getting interrogated each time we don't really understand what is going on. Also this does tell us quite a lot about 2017 as there is more sexual scenes and within the film which add to the element of our world and how everyone seems more accustomed to it and it conveys that all this may be actually happening now as women are still being objectified within the film. This all conveys that this is the world we live in but its all happening behind doors and seems like a hyper-reality just as Baudrillard's theory suggests which links in with these aspects through this film.
