Ignite presentation learner response:

1) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each category.

  • concept 3/5
  • Structure 4/5
  • terminology 4/5
  • Rehearsal 4/5
  • The title feels like two films in one- a bit of a mouthful which is definitely worth throwing it open to the class to work-tagline too
  • classic horror narrative with past and deaths
  • This should work for quickly communicating meanings for audiences
  • Great to see your researching horror posters as well as trailers
  • Good use of media terminology- eye line matches, POV shots, handheld shots all worth for horror.
  • Perhaps slightly more specific plans/ examples for film language could could push this higher e.g Mise en scene and sound.
  • Representation definitely needs to be thought about more due to AQA.
  • Visceral pleasures and jump scares critical to a film like this- but what will be yours you need to tell your actual plans and scenes.
2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write a detailed WWW and EBI for your own coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW: There is a lot of understanding regarding the horror genre of my film trailer and my plan is fairly simple, as it covers wide range of things that cover what AQA has asked for.

EBI: I believe that i need to just refine my plan further so that i have a clear idea of how to present the narrative, with a twist and how i will subvert expectations for the audiences as a result.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your narrative offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Does it fit the genre you are aiming for? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

My presentation had many ideas and now i will use them further to develop things i need to develop like the narrative and the name of my film. This will be appropriately adapted to meet with the brief and for audiences to enjoy and does fit the horror element. This is because my narrative is very typical and representative of the horror element. I will be considering t further adapt my narrative so there can be a different element within my trailer which intrigue audiences and not fulfil just the conventional things seen within horror.I need to start planning the characters that will need to be included in this production so that i can start filming.

‘Coursework draft tutorial feedback and learner response’.

Anisa Statement of Intent second draft: ·          Very solid Statement of Intent that covers the majority of areas required. ·          I think you could add to representation in terms of ethnicity as well as gender (and add some more theory – Butler, Gilroy etc.?) ·          Add an industry context – funding, distribution, digital promotion etc. Trailer rough cut comments: ·          Lots of potential here with some nice jump scares – the fast paced section in the middle is exactly what we’re looking for. ·          You’re missing loads of easy trailer conventions (most text on screen) that will immediately give it more of a trailer feel. ·          Add some dialogue at the start to explain the narrative (estate agent speak...
